Board and Train Program
A Thoughtful In Home Training Experience Built Around the Whole Dog
With nearly two decades of hands-on experience, this in-home board and train program has been carefully developed, tested, and refined through working with hundreds of dogs and their families. The goal is not quick fixes or rigid formulas. It is thoughtful, individualized dog training that fits a dog’s real life and smoothly transitions back into the home.
This is not a kennel facility and not a generic program. Each dog lives in my home as one of my own and receives daily one on one training that is woven into real routines, relationships, and environments.
Program
A Whole-Dog Approach
Every dog enters the program as an individual. Training is shaped by the full picture, not just a single behavior.
Training plans consider:
- Temperament and age
- Breed traits and learning style
- Past experiences and social history
- Motivation, drive, and confidence level
- The dynamic between the dog and their owner
- The owner’s goals, lifestyle, and expectations
Before training begins, we take time to truly listen. Clients are encouraged to share how they see their dog, what they are experiencing day to day, and what they hope will improve. This conversation matters because the program is built collaboratively, not sold as a generic product.
An In Home Board and Train Experience
Unlike traditional kennel based programs, dogs live directly in my home and are fully integrated into daily life. Training happens in the same kinds of situations you deal with every day, so progress feels natural and practical.
Real life training takes place:
Dogs with fear, reactivity, aggression, or more serious behavior challenges start with additional structure, clear boundaries, and limited freedom. As confidence, clarity, and trust develop, we gradually introduce more freedom and more complex situations in a thoughtful way.
Living in a calm, structured home environment supports stronger learning, clearer communication, and a much smoother transition back into family life once the board and train program is complete.
What’s Included in the Program
Each board and train program is customized to the individual dog, but most include a combination of the following elements:
Every dog progresses at their own pace. Some need more focus on confidence building, social skills, or impulse control, while others spend more time refining obedience and improving reliability in real life situations. The program is always adjusted to match what each dog truly needs.
- Daily one on one training sessions
- Structured household routines that support good habits
- Leash manners and engagement on walks
- Reliable recall so your dog comes when called
- Core obedience skills such as sit, down, place, stay, leave it, and waiting at thresholds
- Calm behavior around people, dogs, guests, and everyday distractions
- Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment
- Downtime for healthy rest, chewing, sunbathing, play, and relaxation
- Group activities when appropriate, including play with other dogs, hikes, and field trips
Advanced and Requested Training
When realistic within the time frame and appropriate for the individual dog, additional behaviors may include:
Owners are welcome to request specific skills. If the dog is capable and expectations are aligned with the dog’s ability and the length of the program, many advanced behaviors can be introduced and developed.

Communication and Progress Updates
Clear communication is an important part of the process.
This helps you stay connected, understand how your dog is being trained, and see changes as they develop.
Throughout the program, owners receive:
Regular text updates
Photos and videos of progress
Phone check-ins as needed
Owner Transfer and Ongoing Support
Training does not end at pickup. The transition home is a critical piece of long term success. Each program includes hands-on owner transfer sessions, clear guidance on handling, routines, and expectations, personalized recommendations for home life, and continued support by phone, text, or follow up sessions.
The focus is confidence, clarity, and continuity once your dog returns home so everyone understands how to maintain and build on the new training.
Who This Program Is For
This program is best suited for owners who want personalized, high quality dog training, value structure, consistency, and communication, and are committed to following professional guidance at home. It is ideal for families who see training as a long term partnership and want to build a stronger relationship with their dog, not just teach a few commands.
Our Commitment
This program is built on trust, curiosity, and relationship building between trainer and dog, trainer and client, and most importantly between dog and owner. By listening first and training thoughtfully, the goal is not only better behavior but a stronger, more confident relationship that lasts well beyond the program.
If you are looking for an in-home board and train experience designed for real life and lasting results, we would love to connect and talk about whether this program is the right fit for you and your dog.
